Don't panic yet Gabi ; lets see what Werner says.
Do think if he says nothing; eventually a lot of bga's will resemble
hotplates.
Hopefully he'll tell me 'm a scare mongrel with good arguments .
Me being one of simple men : think having 8+ layer board with metal sinked
bgas:
will take a lot of heavy rays to get through .
Medically i know they don't do us any good (bar scorpions and cockroaches),
so i just wonder what that penetration would/will do,
to all of those squilions transistor's paths passing electrons in single
line.
In my crystal ball X 's got a limited timeline,
lets hope 'm wrong

Mind you i specifically air here effectiveness on metal laminated parts,
and wattages required to see through it .
Rest in peace your H&B is safe at what it can pull through;
Validation is easy ,
take your finest PROGRAMMED chip and let it ride over a long weekend .
'm 99.99% sure it will scan back fine .

ESD we measure in V's nowadays, not kV's as we used to.
You remember that Sun's flare wiping of NY mobile net satellite ?
Canada's power grid wobbly on same flare?
Seen cute pictures of the rays penetration paths in metal and glass in
space.
Lasers are doing wonders (admired 1" steel cutter couple of months ago).
Well, X may be safe, me no expert,
just curious Inge's antipode down under growin' mushrooms.

Hey, Paul!
Now you got me scared. I hoped that Hals und Beinbruch was for good chance.
You write
about multiple passes, -in short, the process is time related. Do I have to
fear that
if the test takes a long time, I might damage good parts?
Thanks,
Gaby
