For what it's worth, here is an example of how one of our company's
divisions specifies laundering guidelines for ESD Smocks, Jackets, etc.:
Cleaning Instructions
Soiled Smocks and Conductive Drop Cloths may be laundered as follows:
Wash separately in machine set on gentle cycle using liquid TideŽ.
Hang and allow to air dry.  Do not use clothes dryer to dry.  Do not twist
or wring to remove excess water.

Subject: [TN] ESD Coats


On the subject of ESD coats, I have heard that depending on the way you wash
and dry them you can take ESD safety right out of them.  Does anyone have a
proven procedure on the safest way to go about this.  i.e.. I heard dry
cleaning is a definite no-no.
