Morning Ken & All -

Most of the shops I visit require that ESD protection be implemented no less
than one meter from the product. For those who use ESD jackets, this means
the garment is on and the upper chest buttons are buttoned. I still see a
number of shops who, in lieu of ESD jackets, require that their employees
wear only cotton upper garments, with sleeves no longer than the elbow.
Neckties are generally not permitted.

I encounter a few shops where the ESD garment is required prior to entering
the general shop areas. This is probably a good precaution for visitors and
non-production personnel, simply because it prevents accidental oversight.

Regards - Kelly
