We require every one handling ESD sensitive items to wear ESD protective
equipment.
In addition, our ESD coats have conductive cuffs that insures a
constant ground connection to the person.
This, in conjunction with heel straps on our grounded floor, keeps our
people grounded and like walking Faraday cages.
They can handle ESD sensitive items without wrist straps.
There is a pretty good paper on this trick in the
EOS/ESD Symposium Proceedings 1999 p.99-155
by Seng Lim. (IEEE No.99TH8396).
