Well somehow it does here,
considering the everlasting care of spreading optos wide enough.
My ancient Helios reports 8.0 on dot.

Basic is 2.5 clearance (air), 4 creepage (FR4); for 250
Double's 5                    8 mm

Apart from basic/double,
there's the in air(clearance)///on card(creepage) gremlin .

Not easy to make cappuccinos nowadays

Thanks for your input here.
Yes, the confusion is between Reinforced and Basic insulation.
Creepage is twice what I quoted for basic.
(my reference AS3260 2.9.3 table 6)
Pollution degree 2 - material IIIb,  2.5mm x 2 = 5mm
(still doesn't tally with 8mm creepage from EN 60601-1 though?)
(not my particular expertise, but learning...)
