MEETING OF THE SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND CHAPTER
OF THE IPC DESIGNERS COUNCIL

Date: Wednesday, the 14th of June 2000

Where: Connies Restaurant - Derby, Ct.

Time: Demonstrations: 5:00pm, Meeting 6:00pm

Topic: Intelligent Data for Design Reviews

John Lane from Ohio Design Automation, Inc. will speak on Intelligent Data
for Design Reviews. John will discuss the necessity for effective access to
complete and intelligent schematic and printed circuit board information as a
key to making the design process more accurate. Part of the solution
incorporates IPC-2511, Generic Requirements for Implementation of Product
Manufacturing Description Data and Transfer Methodology (GenCAM), which
describes printed circuit boards, printed board assembly, BGA and CSP
products with all the information needed for tooling, manufacturing,
assembly, inspection and testing requirements.

The second part illustrates how a Design Data Browser, such as InterComm, can
make all schematic or PCB data graphically accessible to anyone in the
organization in an EDA-inde-pendant manner. As the EDA database represents
the common information needed between engineering and manufacturing, it makes
sense to give effective access to all that need it.

Meeting host:

OHIO Design Automation, Inc. in Nashua, NH was incorporated in 1994, and
currently maintains a staff of 20 employees. Ohio's primary focus is
