it start to make sense now... if it is battery contact, it is usually either
gold or SS (normally a little better SS than 304...so you will have
corrosion on the battery pack but not on the assembly contact).  Gold/SS
(the contact on battery) coupling is not uncommon.  Particularly for
prototype...(besides, it is difficult to put SS on the board...)...If you
using solder, you may have corrosion on the PWA due to solder/SS coupling.
Battery contact should not be solder plated based on my
understanding...(don't kill me, just my 2 cents)...
