Tell me more! I have always been under the impression that gold will just
migrate into the copper until the 2 metals become amalgamated... or one
alloy... I have always done it that way, with an underplate of nickel...

Is Immersion gold over cu or is there an underplating typically? What does
your manufacturer recommend? Are you doing this?

Believe it or not.....Gold over Copper was, a few years ago, and may still
be, the standard approach in the UK, and met British Telecom standards.

The minimum gold thickness was a lot thicker than we are used to here in the
US, however.

So, it is not as totally far out in space as you might expect to want gold
over Copper.
