To netters' one and all:

Hope all of us who had our holiday here in the US had a good one.

This is a tough call. Yeah, I can see the self-advertisement portion of this
argument but, would I get the flame thrower treatment if I posted a note
that said, "I ran across this really great book called "Fill in the Blank"
by 'Dr.Brilliant'. I would recommend this book to anyone. You can get more
info by visiting website www.fillintheblank.com."? --- I don't think so.

You have to believe that the number of authors that belong to this net are
only a few. If they want to make this group aware of a reference they have
written, I think the rules need to be bent a little. I for one was glad to
see the post from Doug. I can also refer back to posts by Werner E., where
he references one of his texts as a reference. I didn't see anything wrong
with those either

There is a huge difference between this sort of promotion where a book is a
one of a kind item. This versus a pure sales promotion for solder paste,
flux or whatever for which there are many, many suppliers.

Sorry for the non-tech post, but I thought the post in question was a good
informative post.
