Clayton, - and hello fellow techies, its been a while...

A coating to reduce or eliminate the potential for fire/ignition while
operating is a pretty tall order.

Bear in mind that the substrate may or perhaps should be at least FR4 =
Flame Retardant grade 4 (unless I am mistaken?) To my knowledge this means
that there is a Brominated additive such that in the event of a fire, the
Bromine will act as a fire puterouterer! :>)

For anything to reduce or eliminate the potential for fire is almost
impossible given that the circuitry itself may overheat to an extent that
fire would be the result.

If you are looking for a protective coating to resist a fire from the
outside, but remember you will probably have some sort of connector or
cabling that may not be coated, then the most likely candidate would be an
epoxy powder type coating. Problem is applying it without ruining the PCA,
because the powder has to applied at very high temperature usually beyond
the withstand of the circuitry.

I hope this helps but if you need more, maybe you could explain more
precisely what you want to achieve.

Regards,
Graham Naisbitt
