Hi Techneter,
I have a batch of 8-layer MLB. There are copper planes on layer 2,4,5 and 7. I
need to route a slot within the copper plane area on these boards. After routing
the slot, copper are exposed at the edge of the slot as there is no clearance
surrounding. Could anyone advise :
a) Would it be safe to use this batch of board even verified with no short
circuit between planes ?
b) Would there be any reliability issues (eg. delamination, short circuit due to
intermetalic reaction) in long term say 5-10 years of storage and operation ?
Thanks and have a nice day.
