Subject: Re: [LF] Virus Alert!
All,
the virus hit our systems today and has already done
substantial damage to
some workstations. The virus appears to delete mail archives
as well as
using the default address book to proliferate itself.
If you have a default preview pane (ie with Microsoft
Outlook), this must be
turned off before attempting to delete the mail! Once the
mail is deleted
from the "Inbox" you must then clear the "Deleted Items"
folder to ensure
that it has been removed.
For those with corporate, network or large address books you
would be well
advised to remove these as the default address books to
ensure that your
systems and/or servers do not become congested should the
virus become
activated.
Regards,
Martin.

Subject: [LF] Virus Alert!
A virus is making its rounds as an e-mail with the subject
line , "I love
you, open now" or something similar. There is an attachment
with the e-mail
titled "Love letter for you" DO NOT OPEN the e-mail, or the
attachment,
delete both the attachment and the e-mail.
The virus basically uses your address book and e-mail
program to send out
similar messages to everyone in your address book. It can
potentially tie up
the network.
Thanks
Keach
