TechNetters, please comment.  A colleague in design came to me with a proposal to make a mid-plane, as opposed to a backplane, board.  It will have connectors press fitted from both sides.  The problem is the connectors on both sides will go into the same holes.  The connector tails are 0.11 inches long (whatever that is in mm) and the board is 0.25 inches thick (6.4 mm, if I recall).  So there will be a little space between the tail ends when the connectors are pressed in from each side.  

The question is, what quality considerations arise here?  How do we inspect these boards?  A-610 has some criteria for press fit pins, but they apply to pins that go all the way through the board.
