Ken,

I hope I'm not repeat what you have already received on the issue. When we panelize, we
have a drawing/part number for the individual PWB and the panel. The drawing for the
individual board will have a note stating the what the part number is for the panel
drawing. The bill of material will call for the panel part number and the quantity will
be what fraction of the panel is used to build one individual assembly. The planer can
look at the quantity, do the math and make sure the pull to the floor is in full panel
quantities.

The buyers requirements will come out right with this set-up. If I have a four up panel,
.25 is used for one assembly. If I want to build 200 units, ERP tells the buyer we need
50 panels. The buyer rounds up when ERP says that a fraction of a panel is required.

This way I can handle the panel anyway I want on the floor. I can run a full panel at
placement and then break it down to a smaller size for wave soldering without having a
different part number. The panel is just packaging. Its kinda like breaking a case into
4 six-packs and ,eventually, 24 individual cans.
