 We have been using the light pipes for about a year now.
And they will require some extra handling. Either heat stake or
an adhesive to maintain their position.
  While it is better than using a THT part, watch out for pricing.
Many times the light pipe cost more than the LED's!!!!!!
 And can have an availability problem.( what else is new)
