Teflon is a funny stuff. Because it is sintered (fritté) and not moulded onto the
copper wire, it can be quite porous, depending on the quality of the sintering. You may
find considerable variations in dielectric strength (and constant) from one make of
wire to another or even between batches from the same manufacturer. It is not really
suitable for high voltage use, especially if you bend it with a radius smaller than
about 20 mm. It is also hell for triboelectric effects.
