Dear Lon,
A Eutectic Alloy is best visualised on a phase diagram. It is the mixture of
metals which gives the lowest melting point.
See the Tin/Lead phase diagram attatched with the 183 C (61.9% Sn) eutectic
point marked on it. The triangles to the left and right of this point are
the 'pasty' phases which have already been referred to in other postings.
