Contact a microscope distributer. Most manufacturers (Lieca, Mieja,Olympus, Motic, etc.) sell scopes with camera ports for around $5K including monitor. These adapt to video and 35mm so I would assume digital camera also. If not, video could be connected to a frame grabber or video printer. The scope can also be eliminated and replaced with a zoom video camera lens. We have used a video scope attached to a VCR and video printer for years. The printer is near 35mm quality and if document importing in needed, I simply scan the photo with a standard desktop scanner. I've considered buying another and possibly looking at Sony equipment used for medical applications. O.C.White (www.ocwhite.com) sells a "Super Scope 2000" which is a table top viewing system with a 10" LCD screen with a video output for $4495.

Hope this helps

I am stuck and thought maybe someone out there could help me out. Here the problem:

We have an Olympus D-620L digital camera and I would like to get some extreme close ups of solder joints (defective or not) so that I can show the assemblers actual pictures of the good, the bad, and the ugly. The camera, however, will not focus down to the resolution that I want/need. One of the Manufacturing engineers was able to take a picture through the eyepiece of one of our microscopes. It looks great except for the black ring around the image (picture the old TV way of indicating you are looking through binoculars!)

So, I was wondering if there is a way to attach the camera itself to the microscope. I've looked in all my catalogs and come up empty. Anyone in TechNet land know of a way?

Vendors please feel free to contact me directly.

Thanks,
