Rick ,
Desoutter will rig yo' up with "
1
a vibrating bowl/box for the screws polarity
2
air feed screw dispensing head (custom tip for yo screws)
3
the touch activated clutch electric driver
4
vertical assurance boom arm
(balanced x slide is better than diagonal[does have a slight side shift upon
application])

The set you can have as well on a Yamaha Scara robot(or xyz(good&cheap),
with indexed base will do the job for yo
(industrial [no hands]high speed driver [indexed stepper if you need])

This is sequence (xyz, points) process,
be manual (approx. 1 sec/screw) ; or robotic (fraction sec).

Than you can go to custom designed (let me know if yo' feel extreme)
Z single action planetary multihead,
which costs money but yo have all screws in one plane in one hit
(a joy to watch from mechanic's eyes, tears of despair from designer,
resulting in schizophrenia as occupational hazard)

Soo, unless yo ' can design screws out ;
Desoutter Inc. US (British made):
phone : (1) 248 476 5358
fax :   (1) 248 476 3819

Should you need any exotic answers ;
ring straight tech support at their Hemel Hempstead (London)factory :
phone : + 44 1442 344300
fax :   + 44 1442 344604

Apart from them is a lot of other reliable (atlas copco, national,
etc.)sets,
but this are artists .
They don't have a web site (disdained dandies) ;
will fax yo cat. pages if yo send me a fax No.

Subject: [TN] Screw Tool Source Needed?

We have a fairly high-volume project coming up that requires us to install
about 30 2-56 screws per unit at final assembly. Can anyone recommend
sources of automated or semi-automated screw insertion tools? I'm hoping to
find something that will allow us to preload the tool with the screws to
avoid having the operator hand load screws one at a time. I'm assuming this
type of tooling is available but since we don't do alot of mechanical
assembly, I don't know of sources.

Thanks for your help,
