There are two issues when considering using conductive epoxies on Sn/Pb:

1) Epoxies do not bond well to tin or tin containing alloys
2) There is an interaction between the Ag and the Sn at the bondline. This leads to electrical
and possibly mechanical failure in service.

A number of manufacturers have addressed these issues with varying degrees of success, but I am
not aware of any that have achieved comparable reliability to soldering or to using Ag epoxies
on non Sn. So you are right, if anyone has obtained this exulted state it would be really
interesting to hear from them!

Subject: [TN] Electrically conductive epoxy for Sn/Pb

Hi,

Is there anyone who knows of any electrically conductive epoxy that can be used for bonding on
tin/lead?

Regards,

/Håkan
