Hi Raj! ROSA is an acronym for Reduced Oxide Soldering Activation and OSP is
Organic Solderability Preservative. The ROSA process uses electrochemical
reduction methodology to transform oxidized metallic surfaces into solderable
finishes and the OSP process provides an organic barrier to reduce or eliminate
oxidation of the metallic finish underneath. Rockwell has completed a tremendous
amount of ROSA technology investigation and is currently working with ECI
Technologies to further understand the ROSA process. There have been a number of
industry papers and reports on both OSP and ROSA technologies. Check out the
TechNet Archives.
