Hello, while you still are Open, what time do you close, good to know,
concerning soldering, it seems to me that research and databases are still of interest. After many decades of plumbing and fluxing, soldering ought to be a bagatelle, but all know Mr Murphy is allways somewhere around, so we seem never to be full learned. If you are used to make FE models and calculations around soldering, we are even more curious about what you are. Anyway, welcome to share plagues and joy. We are a gloomy and introvert and grayish crowd at TechNet, but you will overcome that, I hope. Welcome, and see you at Tin o'clock.

As a new subscriber to TechNet, I'd like to introduce The Solder Reseach
Group at the Open University.

I must admit that I do not understand much of the the detailed discussions
that are going on.

Our interests are with the performance of solders and solder joints in
service. We assume that everyone has made a sound joint !!

Naturally, we are studying the popular lead-free alloys. We have an
excellent range of mechanical testing equipment including the ability to
test at temperatures down to -60C.
