Hi guys,

Wondering what kind of static protection requirements the rest of the world
has in place for semiconductors.
For example a 2N3904 transistor is a "Class 3" device. Does this mean that
static protection is not required? Our drawings for the parts call for
them to be shipped in anti static packages. I can not get any of the
manufacturers to tell me that ESD protection is not required, yet tape and
reel through hole components are not shipped in anti static packages! We
routinely return these parts to the vendors.

Our Q.C. and purchasing departments want me to remove the anti static
requirement. I am resisting that until I have something from manufacturers
telling me otherwise.

All input appreciated.
