Ken,

OH YES! It would be quite troublesome to not specify how to panel the
boards. Production/Manufacturing should have some say in the number 'up' on
a panel, then the fab guys can put in their 2cents on how well that works on
a physical panel. Productions first choice may be wasteful on a full raw
material panel so it has to be 'worked out'.

Your thoughts on what effects it can cause are right! Defining the panel
size will help production tool up for the board properly as well as maintain
future continuity. Hip Hip for raising these issues.

Ideally, a panel will have a convenient quantity for manufacturing batch
sizes, and yet be optimized from the fab house to waste as little material
as possible.
