Guys,
Here is the bummer. Parts scarcity at the worse. Because we can not get the
parts on time, we are looking for way around. Here is the situation.
We need/use 200-pin female AMP connector, p/n 4-557103-1, normally on our
board, but due to non-availability of the this 200 pin part, we have to do
something with 100 pin AMP part, 2-557103-1, to make it work for 200-pin
part. Here is our plan, take two 100 pin parts, cut one end of each
connector so that both can fit into a board where only one 200 pin part goes.
Knowing this situation, I am left with only two options.
(1) Does anyone has AMP 4-557103-1 in quantity so that we do not have to do
that nasty operation.
(2) Can someone provide info where I can my take 100-pin connectors and cut
the plastic end? I think there must be a way to cut plastic end using either
a laser technology or metal/plastic cutting technology.
I will really appreciate any help on the subject. Preferred area is San Jose
and surrounding vicinity as we are located in Milpitas.
