Hi Nancy!
Thank-you for the clarification about the case sizes, after all, being from
Kemet, you are the expert.
I gotta question that was brought up on the technet a few weeks ago, it's
about the upcoming shortages of tantalum capacitors world-wide. This is
apparently a fact as far as I can see. Talking to the purchasing folks at my
company, they have verified that lead times are becoming longer and longer,
and that in some cases, if you've not been a long term customer with certain
companies, they will not accept any new orders.
I guess my question is; are things really that bad? Do we (as EMS providers)
need to adjust the leadtimes to our turn-key customers because of this
situation? How far out do we need to plan on to purchase tantalum capacitors?
I know there's a lot of press out there about this, but I'd like to know your
opinion about the situation, and if it is true, why the situation occured. If
you can't talk about it, I'll understand...
