Hi Paul (long time no hear)
Considering the footnote and some of Justin's opinions (this A.Cup's smooth
sail 's tickling their ego [not that they wouldn' need it])on Aussie married
life I thought this is Q for me ;

but 'm bit stuck here (and read it over again ; it's written in english [not
german]),
still no capish :

Dipping ???
Reminds me my young days when i used to practice my bohemian ways and
soldered (without shorts[on board that is])
on a fry pan (trick was to hold the board for 10 seconds in pliers over the
pan to soak the heat and than slide with board edge skimming the dross)
But you ain't doin' anything as foolish ?, need a serious woodoo to be good
at this .

Soo i presume (prefer the foam too, stick with it and don't let and
hypertech wizz talk yo out of it)yo have A(?) wave.

Forget the Nitro as well (not a viable solution for yo) , it's for those who
can't do any better without
(like climbing everest with oxygen , very poor ethics)
By the sound of it (preheat you have I hope [that thing between foam stone &
pot]) your rail sits too high/clogged wave too low, and/or wrong angle.
Your board edge should hit the wave at half thickness (average on slight
bow)the solder ;
and at that moment it should push the dross film out over the exit edge .
The oncoming angle is some 15+/- degrees and usually i'd prefer a thin slow
run-over:
with bit more dross formation but easy pushover of cleaner film and solder
as it circulates instead just sitting high (not pretty and clean).
Maintenance i feel is in it as well (when did you scrub the flow diffuser
last time ?).
When it starts clogging the mesh the flow drops and instead of edge entering
you do belly enter (pardon the visions) with subsequent dross entrapment
mess all under upon slide over .
Supply more details if above insufficient (brand, type, or home made?)
Did you fix those non wetted/contaminated lead joint voids from last time ?

cu mate         paul

PS
yo remember that J. Wray White 180 overproof you tipped me on ?
Finally managed to smuggle couple over here via a cricket fan friend .
DEVASTATING mixing effects , unsuspecting souls go down (or never get up)in
minutes .
You were right with blue flames too, lit cigars (fighting mozzies
[mosquitoes, Guenter]) and glasses made me an instant hero of underground:
makes top show past midnight on fishy trips ;
(..ses pumpkin wine all over !;
may send one to Inge, no idea how he gets it through Swedish customs [may
label it as a rocket fuel])

PPS
Angoras are all yuppie farming rage here (for the wool i presume) .
No comments Justin , concentrate on Prada please .

Subject: [TN] NEED HELP WITH DIP SOLDERING USING POT!

Hi Technetters,

We have now started dipping our boards, this is a BIG step down for you
guys, BUT, its a big step up for us.

The thing is the boards are giving us severe bridging problems.

We are using Kester 63/37 solder and, #971 flux, foamed, with OSP coated
boards.

The pot is set at 460, and we have tried hotter and cooler, with the same
result.

There is a film that forms almost instantly on the surface of the moten
solder which I think is the source of the problem, would working under
nitrogen help to eliminate this? In fact is blanketing with nitrogen a
viable solution?

HELP!!!
