<< Morning fellow Technetters,

Is anyone out there using any kind of portable exhaust unit for solder pot
fumes when the wave machine is being worked on? When the 'top' of the wave
machine is opened for maintenance the exhaust system does not work and the
fumes fill the room. I was wondering if anyone else either does have a unit
or is considering a unit for this. I am interested in experience and
 opinions.

Feel free to reply directly to me off line if you like. And, Thanks in
 advance!

Hi Richard!

I'm not using one now, but I have a Treiber wave solder where the pot doesn't
crank out, a hood slides back when I need to de-dross, and I can position the
hood in such a way to allow me acess yet still suck stuff out....but I do
have experience with them in the past during my "Zevatech" days when doing
the NEPCON shows. The units that were almost always used down at the TAC line
to exhaust all the ovens and wave solder machines were from Impell. I my
opinion they worked GREAT! They make a unit specifically for what you want to
use it for. Go to:

http://www.impell.com/fume3.html

Don't know how much it is, but I do know they work...
