Suspect the assumption is that the flux is acidic, and it will change the
color of the Bromophenol Blue.
Problem with this assumption is that if you have already cleaned with a
"saponifier", the entire surface, INCLUDING ANY FLUX RESIDUES REMAINING, will
be alkaline, and give you a positive test, indicating no flux
residues.....because of this, I think this test is not a good idea, it could
give you a warm fuzzy feeling that everything is okay, when it is not.
