Susan,

You have a good one here!

In my opinion crystals are the last thing I would want to try to surface
mount if they are leaded! We had failures on crystals when we used them as
TH components. The leads are smaller diameter than most TH components so I
can really understand the 'springy' action, especially since they are trying
to hold up the body.

I don't know of any standards there might be, but I am sure someone will be
able to help you out here. Good luck!
