Hi Hans!

I replied to Monica off-line but since you asked, I'll post what I told her.
I've always had a little problem with adjustable slide rack types of carts.
They're not foolproof. They're operator dependant to ensure that they'e been
set to the proper width for the PCB, and if they're not, you can have boards
fall completely out of the rack or on top of each other.

She didn't say if she was dealing with bare PCB's or loaded ones. With loaded
boards you can sometimes run into the problem of having components that are
real close to the edges of the boards getting damaged or completely knocked
off when sliding them into the slots. One other problem can be is that you
may not have 2 parallel edges that don't have some type of part (like
overhanging right-angle connectors) to allow you to use a slotted type of
rack anyway.

That's why I prefer tray type carts. There's a couple manufacturers out
there, but I like the carts from Bliss Industries. Go to:
http://www.blissindustries.com/ and check their tray carts out. They're a
little more expensive, but in my opinion well worth it. Completely eliminates
any board damage whatsoever when transporting them.

Another plus with tray carts is when you have boards that you're hand
stuffing the through-hole getting them ready for wave solder. With the
slotted racks when pushing over to the wave machine, when you roll over
little bumps in the floor the vibration can sometimes cause the parts to come
out of the boards and fall of the floor. With trays, if they come out of the
board they're laying right there in the tray and you just stuff them back in.
I just purchased some here recently, and I bought some at past companies I've
worked at. I love em'...
