Variables (at least what I can think of off the top of my head) for pressed
thickness of pre-pregs.

1. Manufacture of pre-preg.
        - manufacturer
        - resin content
        - style (no flow, high flow, etc.)

2. Lamination press cycle.
        - Lamination pressure (each shop may vary).
        - Press type (straight hydrolic, vaccuum assist, autoclave)
        - Thermal profile (heat rise rates, etc.)

3. Venting in artwork used in imaging (effects resin "squeeze out")

4. Circuit geometry of the innerlayer, including copper weight (effects
resin "squeeze out").

Not necessarily in order of priority. And I'm sure I forgot a few. With so
many variables, abolute consistency between vendors may not be in the cards.

Subject: [TN] PREPREG AGAIN

>Sorry guys,
>I'm still wrestling with this one.
>Can you give me the thickness of 1080 X 2 after pressing.
>Can we work through the reasons for two suppliers giving different results
>for the same prepreg bearing in mind that not all manufacturers are in the
>western world.
>Does the pressing process have much impact on finished thickness?
>Are there any standards with which to control prepreg production?
