From my experience last time, hot bar soldering is a local area soldering to
prevent heat loading on the rest area. The typical application I encountered
before is to solder Flex cable with LCD on to PCB. The LCD can not be
subject to IR relow.

Normally it will have :-

- loading table with thermal resistance material,eg. ceramic, CDM, FR4..
- A thermod head with temperature and pressing time control.
- With camera / vision system for alignment.

It requires solder on the pads by SMT then put on Flux, and put on the parts
to be soldered on the PCB.

You can contact Getech Singapore they are supplying those equipment, contact
James Lee at email :[log in to unmask]

While you are answering Gabriela ,
Could someone please also tell me what Hot Bar Soldering is. This is my
frist time hearing those words. I don't need a lot just a brief statement
will do just fine.
 Thanks for your time

Hi Nancy!

It's just what the name implies. Basically a machine that uses a heated bar
to reflow and perform the solder connection. The bar can either made of
metal, or a ceramic material. (I've heard ceramic bars are more even in heat
and require less maintenance). There's a page that has a few different
machines that you can look at, and describes the uses for each machine. It's
