Topic: DFM Analysis Tools

Our February meeting marks the first meeting of a year filled with
interesting programs. It is our intent to provide you with a full schedule
for the year, as soon as the speakers and hosts have been finalized. We
anticipate full commitments within the next few weeks.

Last year we heard a lot of hype concerning tools intended to enable the
designer to evaluate his design prior to placing the design into production.
These analysis tools check for fabrication, assembly and test violations.
User definable tables containing specific process and equipment parameters
usually drive them.

We will have a brief presentation and demonstration of a typical DFM analysis
tool, and close the meeting with a discussion on what we, as designers, feel
these tools should contain and how the user interface should operate.
