This depends as to what standard you plate & design , Alain,
and what's design expectancy.

my target 's been always solder & contact on same finish;
therefore pushed the flash gold (say more than 8um Ni, and less than 0.8um
Au) to limits
with which many of previous generations did not agree .
Proved to be not as much limits of flash as overdesigned gold fingers for
example (the "safe" designs)

But as validated on various applications (carbon pads over 1M+ cycles,
fingers 150K cycles);it works fine ,
also depends very much on Your fab finish "character" ; as experienced
variations on relatively same specs from different suppliers.

Therefore best possible notion i could give you would be mount a rig with
cam on motor with counter and let it run for a week checking daily ; you'll
get Your results quick and cheap without having to rely on second-hands
(like me)

No maximum or minimum exists without all the relative considerations
(runned one life test on phones @ 14M/c ; with specific plating , that is,
etc.)

Subject: [TN] Maximum number of insertions (gold contact)

Do you know what is the maximum number of insertions a gold contact (on a
PCB) can hold until it is no longer

reliable (or wears out)?
