I was only able to attend the first hour or two of The SMART Group's Lead-Free
Seminar day, which was quite well attended - well over 200 people. Of the
morning sessions which I caught, the main points seemed:
1) The DTI seemed to think that the WEEE proposals look like not going through
with a lead ban by Jan 2004, although the commercial pressures to go lead free
are still strong.
2) Marconi's experiences with flux requirements for lead-free soldering were
interesting and pointed at the suppliers.

My understanding is that (with the speakers' permission) we will be adding the
presentations to The SMART Group webiste over the next few weeks
(http://www.smartgroup.org).
