Hi ya'll!

Well, I've finally run across some gerbers that I can't read (at least not
all of the files I think)...in either Lavenir Viewmate or GC-Preview.

It's weird, I can see the board outline, all the traces in each of the
8-layers, and the PTH's, but not the surface mount pads (they're on the
bottomside).

I know it's from Zuken because that's what Lavenir tells me it is when I load
the aperture list and tells me the format when I ask it to "Guess type"...it
recognizes all 120 shapes...but still no SMT pads. It's gonna be hard to get
a stencil or program the board (we use GC-Place) if I don't figure out what
I'm doing wrong...any ideas?

One other question, I'm just curious how many of you out there ever run
across boards that have no silkscreened reference designators on the board?
or polarity markings for polarized components? The PTH components don't even
have square pads for pin-1?!? Really makes things tough building boards like
that in my opinion...
I just was curious how common it is, and if there's a real reason for doing
that....
