Hi there Jean-Francois,

To answer your question, although its not the way to use the TechNet &
you have been told not to do it this way
but just so that you know better how to use Outlook.

The way to use Outlook to autoreply is to use the "inbox assistant" (Or
"rules wizard")and create a rule that has a particular
sender or subject heading etc, then you can choose to either just
delete/move the message or to reply to it
with a particular message. You can create a rule that contains a huge
group of selected people from your address book.

This will then filter incoming message from a particular source and
enable you to automatically have them deleted so that you do not
have to be bothered with them, moved to a separate folder for later
reading, replied to with an "I'm on holiday, I'll get back to you" type
of message
or can in fact set all sort of bells and whistles going if you so wish.

As an example of the rules abilities I have one for use of the TechNet,
as follows;
Because I am on a company network & want to know instantly when I
receive a message from people within the company, yet not
from the TechNet I have had to turn of the instant email arrival
notification.

What I have done is to create a rule that when a message is received
from a (rather large) selection of people, pop up with a notification
box that a message
has arrived.
Then I created another rule that moves any message that is from or
referring to the TechNet to a separate folder than the inbox, this does
not notify me.

Admittedly I do not get instant notification when mail from a someone
new appears, but I cope with that.

I hope that this waffle might have been informative.
