If you're faced with soldering thru hole components, the gold may be a
problem from the standpoint of inhibiting solder flow in the barrels.

If this is a press-fit compliant pin assembly, you need to contact the
connector manufacturer to determine if they have evaluated their connector
system with that finish and at the environments your hardware is intended to
operate in.

Go with a bit of caution on this one!!
