Just a suggestion, if you can get a hold of the
newest Norton's try running the system checker.
You may have something wrong with the system
registry.  As the system tries to shut down,
it may be trying to close an application that
no longer exists.  The major difference between
simply erasing programs and uninstalling them.
Uninstalling clears out the registry.  Simple
erasing doesn't.                - Doug McKean
