Hi Leesha

You are aware from teaching the course that 7711 is for rework. When rework is accomplished the work has to look exactly like when it was first produced. So for rework IPC-A-610 can be used for acceptance.

But every 7721 REPAIR action is unique, depending on the kind of damage that had to be repaired. It isn't possible to use 610 or any other standard to determine if a laminate repair or conductor repair was done correctly. So at the end of each procedure in the 7721 part there is a section "Evaluation".

The evaluation words offer suggestion what to look at after repair to see if the repair is good enough. But many of the words don't offer enough good information.

The June meeting only has one agenda item but it is a very big project. The committee will be reviewing the "Evaluation" words in every written repair procedure to try to make them better. The people at this meeting will be from industry that have many years of experience developing and evaluting repair procedures.
