有事需要请大家帮忙。
工作组在翻译标准时关于test一词的翻译有分歧，集中表现为两种意见。
翻译为试验：理由是：
陈培良：查GB/T 20000.1—2002《标准化工作指南 第1部分：标准化和相关活动的通
用词汇》的2.13.1 test 为“试验”，2.13.1 testing 为“测试”，2.13.2 test method
为“试验方法”。因此，不赞成将test译为“测试”。
GB/T 20000.1—2002《标准化工作指南 第1部分：标准化和相关活动的通用词汇》是
修改采用ISO/IEC指南2:1996《标准化和相关活动的通用词汇》(ISO/IEC
Guide2:1996, Standardization and related activities - General vocabulary,
MOD)的。本部分由中国标准研究中心提出，由国家标准化管理委员会标准化原理与方
法直属工作组(CSBTS/WG3)归口。本部分起草单位:中国标准研究中心、中国合格评定
国家认可中心、中国电子技术标准化研究所。
其中test / testing 在GB/T 20000.1—2002也就是在ISO/IEC Guide2:1996中是两个
词：
2.13.1 试验 test
依据规定的程序测定产品、过程或服务的一种或多种特性的技术操作。
2.13.1.1 测试 testing
进行一个或多个试验的行动。

翻译为测试：理由是：
彭丽霞：关于上述测试和试验，从语言角度来讲，我认为test / testing 是同一个
词。抛开这个词的翻译，我们来考虑中文之试验和测试有什么区别。下面是我的理
解。
测试表达的是对某个结果进行测量，看其是否符合某种预期，例如某个标准或协议的
要求。和检查检验表达的意思接近，只是手段可能不同。测试一般需要借助较为复杂
的仪器设备以及相应的方法。
而试验是一种摸索，面对的问题包含许多未知的因素，是为了期望得到的某种结果而
进行的尝试。边试边检验我们的设想，可能成功可能失败。比如开发原子弹的过
程，我们会说试验而不会说测试。试验有成功有失败。而测试则是通过/合格还是不通
过/不合格。试验过程是要想尽所有可能的方法手段来实现目标，而测试过程方法和手
段都是既定的。
试验和测试相同之处可能在于二者都需要借助某些仪器设备或巧妙的方法来进行。
