Hi Justin,

It is really hard to tell what is being shown in the picture. It seems that there isn’t breakout at all, only tangency, but that most of the annular ring is etched away. Is there a better image available?

Best regards,
Dave

Hi All,

We found the PCB with external annular ring too tin and measured the annular ring width is 0.0361mm/0.0464mm (Remark: The width of the annular ring as per design is 0.265mm). Therefore, I believed that they are should be rejected as is. However the PCB supplier thinks they are should be conform to IPC-A-600 standard clause 2.10.4 External Annular Ring - Unsupported Holes class 2.
1). 90 degree breakout is allowed.
2). If breakout occurs at the conductor to land junction area, the conductor is not reduced by more than 20% of the minimum conductor width specified on the Engineering drawing or production master nominal.

Therefore, would you please kindly share in your experience for me?

Thanks in advance!
