UL uses J or K type as well, but T type can be also used if better accuracy is needed. However how to secure the thermocouple without affecting measurement result is a challenge needs to face.

Thanks again and best wishes!! Ben.

Hi All

Normally a J or K type thermocouple is suitable for the temp range, an embedded wire thermocouple plate can be used.

Hi Lewis,
All hot air gun have their sensors. Generally, the probe is located in the center of hot air outlet.
In 7711/21, the temperature is not mandatory. There is a way to confirm the temperature with a piece of paper. You can find it in followed steps.

主题: [TGAsia] measure the hot air temperature method

Hi,All:
In IPC 7721 and 7711 document just mentioned the hot air temperature is approximately 425℃ and adjust it if necessary ,but it didn’t define the test method to get the real temperature.
Do you have the relative solutions?
Thanks,
