Before you venture too far down this road, I'd like to offer the following advice:  If
you don't have a good foundation in statistics you will have difficulty in obtaining
meaningful results by applying your research in these areas.  While taking courses
covering quality control, statistics, DOE, SPC, ISO, etc. I found that the knowledge
base was necessary for one to understand the assumptions that are behind the
experiments or measurements.

Given all of that, I can't direct you to texts specific to your request other than
reviewing some of the NEPCON, SMTA or other technical presentations that addressed
these topics.  If you would like references for texts covering the statistics or SPC
background, please contact me off-line.
