Jorge, we've debated about wave soldering. When such parts were in short
supply (maybe they still are), we decided that, rather than risk any in
wave, we'd hand solder. I called the manufacturer, who only told me that
they were not made to be waved, but a lot of people were doing so. I'm
referring to the axial can style. We had seen fallout at wave before going
to hand. I'm not sure the process couldn't have been tuned to eliminate
the fallout, but there were no parts to risk. Lou Hart

Subject: [TN] Tantalum Caps

Technetters,

I have a product that has Tantalum Caps, having them waved would make our
life easier, the board has some TH components we currently hand solder and
that could be waved. I know that there might be some reason not to wave
Tantalums, but I am not sure. Can Tantalum Caps be wave soldered?, Has
anyone done this?

Any responses would be appreciated
