Hi Techies

As a follow-up to my earlier postings, please be aware that there will shortly be 3 new International Standards published:

SIR flux characterisation - this is the basis of our IPC-TM-650 Method 2.6.3.7. I shall be circulating this at the 5-32b meeting at APEX. IEC 61189-5-501
SIR process characterisation - this is a simplified version of IPC 9202 and IPC 9203 that we have in preparation. Again, this shall be circulated at the 5-32b meeting at APEX. IEC 61189-5-502
Process Ionic Contamination Testing (aka PICT) - this is the test method to replace or an alternative to ROSE. Emma Hudson, the new VC / C of 5-32a and 5-32c will circulate. IEC 61189-5-504
NEW Test Coupon to replace/augment B-25 and/or B25A and B24. The newly published IEC 61189-TR-61189-5-506 is the result of the combined 4 year joint IPC and IEC RR test results looking at improving the IPC-TM-650 Method 2.6.3.7 and helping with the evolution of the IPC 9202/9203 documents.

I am confident that we at IPC, can make some further enhancements to the work, especially given that they have been 5 years in development. We all have new info to bring to the party.

I, on behalf of the committees, look forward to seeing you all in San Diego in February 2020

Happy Christmas to all
