As you will no doubt have surmised, how DO you cleanliness test no-clean.
Further, if you do, how clean is clean? I 1(g per inch2 of salt better than
10? Will the board work OK?
For these reasons please refer to the IPC 9201 SIR (Surface Insulation
Resistance) Test Handbook.
SIR Testing is able to inform you if your circuit is reliable - it will not
inform you of what may be on the surface.
Another test is IC (Ion Chromatography) that will tell you what is on the
surface but not whether the circuit is reliable.
SIR testing equipment is now available with frequent monitoring to reduce test
times to a few hours not days.
If you can provide me with your snailmail address, I will send more
information.

Subject: Cleanliness of assembled boards
The ANSI/J-STD-001 specifies cleanliness of assembled boards after
clean process. What are the requirements for assembled boards with flax
no-clean.
