Hello,
I just want to ask regarding the principle behind the weight loss and weight gain method. I am familiar with the weight gain test, but regarding the weight loss method (seems to be unclear), wherein you get the intial weight (W1) of the sample and then put the sample on HCl for some time ---->dry and weigh again (W2). . . .
My question is : if the weight difference (W1-W2) is the loss, is it the greater the loss, the better the pink ring resistance or the other way around ? Or the test I mentioned above is not acutally called "weight loss determination", but rather "pink ring resistance" since the name was only mentioned by some supplier i know? What the principle behind this ?
