Fellow Techies

It is my sad duty to advise you all that Gordon Arbib sadly passed away on 9th April 2010 after a long illness.

Many of you will have known Gordon from his Multicore Solders ownership days.

In 1965, he obtained a First Class Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering at Kings College, London and then M.I.E.E. He spent over 35 years in various positions with Multicore Solders Ltd developing, manufacturing and selling materials for electronics assembly world-wide. This included being Chairman and CEO from 1974 to 2000. The group had manufacturing and sales subsidiaries in Germany, USA, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, China and Taiwan. Gordon was also a director of the parent company, Kelsey Industries Plc from 1974 and CEO from 1990 to 2000. His other appointments include being a director of Herts Training & Enterprise Council from 1991 to 1995, non-executive director of Henkel Ltd from 2000 to 2002 and various other small companies since 2000.

I got to know Gordon late in his career at Multicore but knew him as a man of the utmost integrity and a true Gentleman of the World.

My heart goes out to the members of his family. Our industry has lost another truly father figure.
